Nuovo Mostro D&D 5th - Baelnorn

La lettura di The Herald, mi ha riportato alla memoria il Baelnorn, uno dei mostri delle prime edizioni di D&D che mi piaceva di più.

Il lavoro di conversione alla 5° edizione è stato facile; è bastato partire dalla descrizione del Lich presente nel MM di D&D 5th e modificarne alcuni aspetti, sulla base di quanto indicato nella descrizione del Baelnorn nelle edizioni precedenti.

Di seguito ecco il risultato

BAELNORN
I Baelnorn sono elfi che sono volontariamente diventati non-morti per servire in eterno le proprie famiglie o comunità. Sono creature affini ai lich e appaiono come elfi molto alti, di portamento fiero con pelle avvizzita e occhi bianchi luminscenti.

Esistenza Solitaria. I Baelnorn spendono tutta la loro esistenza all'interno della loro tana che è anche il posto a cui devono fare la guardia. Tipicamente è un posto tipo: una tomba di famiglia, la torre di un mago, le rovine di un villaggio.

Speed 25 ft.

Saving Throws as Lich in MM
Skills as Lich in MM plus Religion +9
Damage Immunities poison, cold, necrotic, lightning; bludgeoning, piercing and slashing from nonmagical weapons
Condition Immunities charmed, exhaustion, frightened, paralyzed, poisoned, unconscious
Senses as Lich in MM
Languages Common, Thorass (Auld Common), Elvish, plus 3 more languages
Challenge 22 (41.000 xp)

Clone in stasis. The Baelrnorn usually has a clone in temporal stasis. It is activated 1d10 minutes after its death.

Legendary Resistance (3/day). As Lich in MM.

Magic Resistance. The Baelnorn has advantage on saving throws against any magical effect.

Spellcasting. As Lich in MM. The Baelnorn has developed versions of spells which don't require M components.

Turn Immunity. While in its lair, the Baelnorn automatically succeds in any saving throw against any effect that turns undead.

ACTIONS
Multiattack. The Baelnorn makes two attacks if it attacks with a weapon.

Paralyzing Touch. As Lich in MM.

Project Image (3/day). The Baelnorn can cast the project image spell without consuming any spell slot. The image is the same as the spell but it's real and has the same AC and HP of the Baelnorn. It only cannot attack with weapons and carry any object but it has the spellcasting, turn undead feature and mantains its paralyzing touch. The image vaninshes at Baelnorn's will (as a bonus action) or when it's reduced to 0 hp. The Baelnorn can have only one active image at time.

Turn Undead (2/day). The Baelnorn can turn undead as per Cleric feature. The DC for saving throw is 17.

Weapon Attack. Typically the Baelnorn has access to a +3 magical melee or ranged weapon and it can use to attack its foes. +12 to hit. Hit: damage of the weapon + 6.

LEGENDARY ACTIONS
The Baelnorn cab take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Same rules of Legendary Actions as Lich in MM.

Cantrip. The Baelnorn cast a cantrip.
Paralyzing Touch (Costs 2 Actions). As Lich in MM.
Use a Magical Item (Costs 3 Actions). The Baelnorn uses one of its magical items. Typically it owns at least 5 magical items of uncommon or higher rarity.

LAIR ACTIONS
As Lich in MM but only the first and the third lair action.
